The wait is finally over! CWL is back and bigger than ever with a brand-new structure for 2025. With a fresh competitive format and three action-packed splits—Winter, Spring, and Autumn—the league is taking things to the next level. Whether you’re a returning champion or a rising contender, this is your chance to prove yourself on the battlefield.
What’s New in 2025?
In previous seasons, CWL followed a single-season format, but starting this year, things are changing. Instead of labeling seasons numerically (like Season 9), CWL is moving to a year-based structure—so welcome to the CWL 2025 Season! The season is now divided into three splits:
- Winter Split (January – March)
- Spring Split (April – July)
- Autumn Split (August – November)
Each split will feature three different tournament stages:
- Showcase Tournament – A short, invitation-based tournament to kick off the split. No entry fees.
- CWL Rise – A 4-week Swiss format tournament, open to 32 teams with a €35 entry fee and a €790 prize pool.
- CWL Defy – The final challenge of the split, featuring a Double-Elimination format, a €15 entry fee, and a €450 prize pool.
At the end of each split, a winner will be crowned, and at the end of the year, we’ll find out who truly dominated CWL 2025.

When and Where?
The Winter Split will officially begin with the Showcase Tournament on January 4-5, 2025. After that, the real competition starts with CWL Rise kicking off on January 20th. The season will continue until March 30th, with a short break before the Spring Split starts in April.
All tournaments will be played on EUW servers, and matches will be broadcasted live on CWL’s Twitch channel.
Why This Season Is Special
CWL has been running since 2019, but this year marks a major step forward in its evolution. The new structure allows players more chances to compete, with multiple entry points throughout the year. No more waiting for one big tournament—players can jump in at the start of any split and have a shot at climbing the ranks.
The Showcase Tournament is another exciting addition, offering teams a unique stage to showcase their skills before the official competitions begin. And with the introduction of CWL Defy’s Double-Elimination format, teams will now have a second chance to fight back, making the competition even more intense.
